GRADOMANIA RUNS OUT
On Saturday December 12th, GradoMania ran out of steam, as IESTYN REES stormed the ring with his newly won contract for a title shot, and cashed it in, a mere 2 hours after he won it!
Fans were left stunned, and many more in genuine tears as GRADO lay motionless after falling to the impromptu title defence. Earlier in the evening, Iestyn Rees was victorious in a scheduled four way elimination match, which ultimately ended up as a three way elimination, after Rees took out NOAM DAR on his way to the ring with a steel chair. Rees then went on to best both BIG DAMO and JOE COFFEY to walk out with a contract for a guaranteed title shot.
Later that night, Grado would defend his heavyweight title against challenger JOEY HAYES in an exceptional back and forth contest. Fans erupted as Grado kicked out of an illegal belt shot to the head (behind the referees back) but fell to a second belt shot to the head which knocked him out cold, this time causing a disqualification.
As Hayes left the ring, fans looked on in a combination of shock and panic as the next few minutes unfolded... Rees would enter the ring and claim his guaranteed championship match there and then! As the champion slowly pulled himself to his feet, it was clear his heart was still willing, but his body was not... A devastating spear lifting him off the ground and crashing to the canvas was the final blow, as the referees hand fell for the heartbreaking '3' and Pro Wrestling Elite had a new Heavyweight Champion...
What does 2016 have in store for The Alpha Male... Will Grado invoke his rematch clause? Will Noam Dar seek retribution? One thing is for sure, Iestyn Rees is now the man on top, and he has no plans to leave there.
